Game #6 Preview: Hurricanes vs Bruins

Hurricanes (5-0-0) vs Bruins (3-2-0)


These two teams are very familiar with each other. The Hurricanes and Bruins met each other in back-to-back

postseasons before last year. The Bruins won both series and had an overall record of 8-1 in those nine games.

But Carolina is looking for revenge and more confidence heading into a stretch of 3 games in 4 days.


Previous Meeting

The last game between these two teams was game 5 of the 2020 1st round in the Toronto bubble. Boston won

that game 2-1 and clinched the series. The game-winning goal was scored by Patrice Bergeron, a bad angle

goal given up by Petr Mrazek that ultimately cost Carolina their season.

Boston’s “Perfection Line” has been near perfect this season 5 on 5. The trio of

Players To Watch

The usually sluggish starting Sebastian Aho has been on fire up to this point of the season. He has produced

9 points in 5 games. Aho’s slow starts have been what has held him back from being a true superstar in the

NHL. His play will be key for Carolina, not just tonight, but for the rest of the season.

Craig Smith is a quality play-driver at even strength. His ability to create will give Carolina problems tonight.

Game #19 Preview: Hurricanes @ Flyers

  Hurricanes (14-3-1) @ Flyers (8-6-4) The Hurricanes finish off their six-game road trip in Philadelphia with an afternoon showdown against the stumbling Flyers. Carolina comes off of a frustrating loss in Seattle Wednesday night, they look to bounce back and build a lead in the competitive Metropolitan division. Philadelphia, on the other hand, is looking to regain its footing. They have struggled recently, and they are currently 1 point behind the last playoff spot in the eastern conference. This is a very important game for both teams. Previous Meeting The last game between Carolina and Philly was on November 12th in Raleigh. Philadelphia handed Carolina their 2nd loss of the season by scoring two goals in the third to win 2-1. Carolina lost that game largely in part to Carter Hart, but also due to a lack of a strong effort in the third  period. Game #12 Preview: Hurricanes vs Flyers

  Hurricanes (10-1-0) vs Flyers (6-3-2) Carolina stormed back against the Lightning to win 2-1 in overtime last game. Now they return to PNC for two games before starting a 5-game west coast road trip. They will face the Flyers, who have been up and down to start this season. This matchup is important for both metropolitan teams. As the two are battling for a better position in the best division in the NHL. Previous Meeting The previous game between Philadelphia and Carolina was back in the 19-20 shortened season. Carolina lost this game 4-1, and it was one of the last few games played by Carolina before the season was delayed by Covid. Goaltending bounce-back in Philly The Flyers' goaltending is what cost them a lot of games last season. This season they have turned that negative into a strength.
