Game #11 Preview: Hurricanes @ Lightning

Hurricanes (9-1-0) @ Lightning (6-3-2)

The Hurricanes look to bounce back after a bad performance against Florida last game, in which they suffered their first loss of the season. They take on the two-time defending Cup champion Tampa Bay Lightning, the team that outed them in the 2nd round of the playoffs last season.

Previous Meeting

The last meaningful game between Carolina and Tampa Bay was game 5 of last season’s 2nd round. Tampa Bay ended Carolina’s season by defeating them 2-0. Ross Colton scored the dagger goal in the 3rd period to help Tampa move onto the Semifinals.

No Kucherov? No Problem

The Lightning have gone 4-2-2 since superstar Nikita Kucherov suffered an injury to take him out for extended time. They played the entire regular season last year without Kucherov, and they went an impressive 36-17-3. This team is at another level with Kucherov in the lineup without question, but Tampa Bay is a veteran team that knows how to win without their best player.

Hurricanes shooting luck running out

Carolina’s fast 9-1-0 start does not come with some caveats. Their shooting percentage is the highest in the NHL at 9.92% (Via MoneyPuck.com). That will come down sooner than later. They will have to create more chances if they want to continue to score at a league-high pace.

What the Analytics Predict

Players to Watch

The pressure is on Tony DeAngelo to step up in the absence of Brett Pesce. He had a rough game last time against Florida. He will look to bounce back against Tampa Bay.

Andrei Vasilevsky has been the best goaltender in the world over the last year. He was one of the primary reasons Tampa Bay won the cup for the 2nd year in a row. He has historically played very well against Carolina, and he will be a big test for the Hurricanes tonight once again.

Comments

  1. I know that many players who play Madden 22 want to know the answer to this question. So where should they buy it? I will answer for you next. Madden 22 is already playable. In the next period of time, players need to get as many Madden 22 coins as possible. In Madden 22, getting more Madden 22 Coins is one of the main goals of every player, but this process often takes a long time. As a professional seller, MMOEXP will make it easier for players to experience the fun of the game.
